Effective date: November 1, 2026 (app renamed from TuneTempo to StrumTick; updated for the iPhone app and the optional StrumTick Pro purchase) · Applies to the StrumTick apps for Android (package com.joprojectshq.tunetempo) and iPhone (bundle ID com.joprojectshq.tunetempo)
StrumTick is a metronome, instrument tuner and practice log. It is built to work on your device. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data.
None (“Data Not Collected” in App Store terms). StrumTick has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs. The app does not send any information about you or your device to us or to anyone else.
StrumTick is free to download. An optional one-time purchase, “StrumTick Pro”, unlocks extra features. It is not a subscription.
The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play: your payment details, Google account and billing information are handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy and are never shared with or seen by us.
The app uses the Google Play Billing Library to ask Google Play whether Pro has been purchased on your Google account, to start a purchase when you tap “Buy”, and to confirm (acknowledge) a completed purchase. The app receives only the purchase status for the Pro item (for example: purchased, pending or not purchased) and the price to display. It stores only a “Pro unlocked” flag on your device so Pro keeps working offline. We do not run a server, and the app does not send purchase information to us or to anyone else. As with every app on Google Play, Google Play Console shows us standard order records for purchases (such as order number, date, price and country), which we use only for accounting, refunds and support.
The purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store: your payment details, Apple Account and billing information are handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy and are never shared with or seen by us. Refunds for App Store purchases are requested from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
The app uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to show the price, to start a purchase when you tap “Buy”, and to check on your device whether Pro has been purchased with your Apple Account (including when you tap “Restore Purchases”). StoreKit gives the app only the purchase status for the Pro item and the signed transaction for it, which StoreKit verifies on your device. The app stores only a “Pro unlocked” flag on your device so Pro keeps working offline. We do not run a server, and the app does not send purchase information to us or to anyone else. App Store Connect shows us standard, aggregated sales and financial reports (such as units, proceeds and country), which we use only for accounting and support.
The tuner asks for microphone permission so it can detect the pitch of the note you play. Microphone audio is processed on your device only, in real time and in memory. Audio is never recorded, saved to a file, or transmitted anywhere. The microphone is only used while the tuner is running, and stops when you tap “Stop tuner” or leave the app. You can deny or revoke the permission at any time (Android: Settings › Apps › StrumTick › Permissions; iPhone: Settings › Apps › StrumTick › Microphone, or Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone); the metronome and practice log keep working without it.
Your settings (such as tempo, time signature, instrument and custom tunings), your practice log entries and the “Pro unlocked” flag are saved in the app’s local storage on your device only. They are not uploaded to us and are not included in Android cloud backups. On iPhone, like the data of most apps, they may be included in your own iCloud or computer backup of the device, which is controlled by you and Apple and which we cannot access. You can delete individual log entries in the app, or delete all app data by clearing the app’s storage (Android) or deleting the app.
If you use “Export CSV”, the app creates a file with your practice log and opens the system share sheet. Where that file goes (for example, another app or a cloud drive) is entirely your choice and is handled by the app you pick.
All of the app’s screens and code are bundled inside the app and run offline. The app does not load web content or contact any server of ours. The only network communication is between the store’s purchase system and the store on your device – the Google Play Billing Library and the Google Play Store app on Android, or Apple’s StoreKit and the App Store on iPhone – to check or make the Pro purchase described above.
StrumTick does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
